Jim Whitton brought his school law practice to Brackett & Ellis in 1990. He has practiced in this area for over 20 years and represents public and private schools throughout North Texas. Mr. Whitton's practice involves advising clients in their day-to-day operations and representing them in state and federal court and before various administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Texas Education Agency, and the Texas Commission on Human Rights. Mr. Whitton regularly speaks at the University of Texas School of Law Annual School Law Conference and the annual joint convention of the Texas Associations of School Administrators and School Boards. He has co-authored articles for the State Bar of Texas School Law Section Newsletter and Insight, the quarterly publication of the Texas Association of School Administrators. Mr. Whitton also represents non-school employers in the area of employment law, landlords and tenants in the negotiation of commercial leases, and buyers and sellers in the negotiation of real estate sales contracts. Mr. Whitton has been recognized by Texas Monthly  and Law and Politics as a "Texas Super Lawyer" in School and Education Law and as a Top Attorney in Fort Worth Texas Magazine.
