Lynn Rossi Scott joined Brackett & Ellis in 2007 after being a partner for ten years in the Dallas office of Bracewell & Giuliani, LLP and after working for twelve years with an Arlington, Texas law firm, in which she served as associate and then partner. Mrs. Scott's practice consists of school law and public law, involving general representation of public school districts, independent and private schools, charter schools, junior colleges, universities, education foundations, and other education-related entities, in matters involving employment, special education, student discipline, bidding, construction, charter schools, educational foundations, policy development, open meetings, public information and other legal matters affecting educational entities. She has defended clients before the federal and state administrative agencies, and has litigated in state and federal court on matters involving construction, competitive bidding, teacher salaries, employee terminations, student transfers, gender equity in athletics, special education, graduation requirements, civil rights violations, exclusive marketing agreements, and other matters. She drafts and negotiates contracts in such divergent areas as employment, exclusive vendor agreements, construction, insurance, tax increment financing, and software licensing. She also advises school boards on all general legal matters and policy development and interpretation. Mrs. Scott is a frequent speaker at national, state, regional, and local conferences and workshops. She is a member of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Tarrant County Bar Foundation.  She served as chair of the State Bar of Texas School Law Section, and is a director of the Texas Association of School Boards' Council of School Attorneys.  Mrs. Scott has been recognized by Texas Monthly as a "Texas Super Lawyer" in School and Education Law and by Fort Worth Magazine as a "Top Attorney" in School & Education Law.  She has also been honored as one of thirty "Extraordinary Women in Texas Law" by Texas Lawyer and is listed in "Best Lawyers in America."
