Scot Pierce has tried over 60 jury trials and has represented creditors in well over 100 bankruptcies. His litigation experience includes creditor rights, real estate disputes, breaches of contract, business torts, commercial and residential construction disputes, covenants not to compete, subrogation, and probate disputes. Mr. Pierce's bankruptcy experience includes various aspects of representing creditors including motions for relief from stay, claims litigation, preference litigation, plan confirmation objections, objections to discharge, motions to disgorge, motions to dismiss, motions to abandon, negotiating cash collateral orders and negotiating debtor in possession financing orders. Mr. Pierce joined Brackett & Ellis in 2002 after working as a Dallas County Felony Prosecutor. Prior to that, Mr. Pierce worked for the white collar crime and antitrust section of a large Dallas law firm and as an Auditor and Business Advisory Consultant for Arthur Andersen, S.C. in Dallas. His practice consists primarily of representing businesses, creditors, investors, and governmental entities with commercial litigation and bankruptcy issues.
